What do you spend the most time asking God for when you pray?

The answer may be for your children or grandchildren or success or some kind of blessings in life.

As Barry Meguiar of Meguiar’s Car Wax pointed out in his witness to the Lord, what we pray for most - is our god.

That may seem hard to take - at least it was for this scribe. I immediately went into denial mode rationalizing why that was simply not true. Eventually, I conceded Meguiar was right.

As it relates to this, yesterday the most studied old testament passage in the world was:

DEUTERONOMY 30:15-20

15"See, I have set before you this day life and good, death and evil. 16If you obey the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you this day, by loving the LORD your God, by walking in his ways, and by keeping his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, then you shall live and multiply, and the LORD your God will bless you…17But if your heart turns away, and you will not hear, but are drawn away to worship other gods and serve them,18I declare to you this day, that you shall perish.

If [we] … worship other gods and serve them… [we] shall perish.

On the flip side,

“If [we] obey the commandments … God will bless you.”

What sins do we need to repent from as Lent begins? Let’s not be in denial the most important commandment is the first commandment spoken about in the verse above:

You shall worship Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.

So before we move to any other commandments, or any other repentance, we should want what He wants and says is most important.

Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to us our justification that prevents us from seeing false gods in our lives.

In conjunction with that, melding in Meguiar’s insight, what specifically then should our most frequent intentions be when praying?

For the salvation of our families, our church, our country, our friends, and those the Lord arranged to put in our path with His divine plan of precision.

The Mother of our Redeemer said that many souls end in hell because no one bothered to pray for them.

We went golfing with them, carpooled with them, saw them at the local market, went to them for haircuts, hired them to help shovel the snow and cut our lawns … but never prayed for their salvation. Evil will be devastated if you pray for the salvation of those souls you know.  Jesus’ outcry to the father in the Garden of Gethsemane was not dread about His crucifixion, but as Saint Faustina said was revealed to her, it was about the wasted opportunity on souls who would end in hell despite what Jesus did for us.

Know that having images of false gods such as Buddha and the many false gods of eastern religions should not be treated lightly as it is an offense vs. the first commandment. Imagine if someone pasted floor to ceiling pictures throughout your home that were the most graphic and embarrassing pictures you could imagine. It is even more upsetting to the Lord when God sees a statue or picture of a buddha, or the countless eastern demonic gods in a home. Do not be deceived into ecumenical notions that we are all praying to the same God.

Eastern religions and their practices such as yoga point to the demonic.

One client from Colorado recently told us her story of when she left someone move into her home who worshiped in the Christian science religion (a misnomer as this is not Christianity), all kinds of trouble started breaking out in her life, including uncanny problems with the structure of her home. In the span of less than two years she went through what she described as decades of problems. Finally, she sensed the Spirit telling her that the presence of this pagan worshiper had transformed her home from one that the Lord relished as His own to one filled with this pagan demon. She worked up the determination to tell the pagan to move out and then had her home exercised from demons by her church minister. Just a few days later, a different friend visited her and not knowing the exorcism had taken place asked what had happened as her home had suddenly been transformed from one of darkness to one of light.  The uncanny problems taking place with the physical structure of her home also thankfully came to an end at the same time.

It is important to know however that an exorcism is not a one-time event that solves evil’s attacks forever. We must accept we are at war at this stage of our mortality and that every day, evil will try to wreck everything dear to you. To keep evil at a distance, and we cannot emphasize enough what a blessing it is to keep evil at a distance, we follow heaven’s prescription of:

  • incremental fasting each week (a 3rd day beyond the obligatory twice weekly, fasting for just 2 meals on that 3rd day),
  • weekly prayer specifically in reparation for sins

Come Holy Spirit help us to repent of allowing any false gods in our lives and bless us with Your protection.

Thank you for fasting with us today – you will be glad you made the effort for all of eternity.

Why We Fast – Our Core Fasting Intentions

1) We add the new fasting intention of taking back the church from evil. We submit the three-step process to achieve this victory is 1-Repent, 2-Prayer & Fasting and, 3-Imitate our Savior by throwing the evil leadership from the church. We will seek to emulate the Savior in our effort to End The USCCB, an organization that has been devastating to the church.  (“You shall know the spirit by the fruits” - Matt. 7:16)

2) For the Holy Spirit to reign down upon America, renewing our land as the Christian, capitalist meritocracy we were founded to be.

3) For the protection of our police, firefighters, military and their families from harm and that the Lord bless their courageous generosity on our behalf.

4) For the protection of the families who fast with us, and for God’s blessings of abundance upon them and that true to His word, we will be able to witness that He prospered us in famine.

Would you like to learn more about fasting?

We maintain a repository of ideas and information we have learned over the last decade while fasting weekly for America. From scientific studies on the benefits of fasting, to the differences between intermittent dieting vs intermittent fasting, to scriptural references regarding the power of fasting to the history of first century Christians who stated believers are obligated to fast weekly, we hope you will find numerous insights with our free resource located here.

Together let us also implore Heaven while fasting for intentions you have highlighted:

4) For all patriots who put themselves on the front lines in combatting evil and for all of the warriors who are stepping up around the nation to fight for the gospel – May The Father cover them in the blood of our savior,  protect them and their families from evil and bring victory to their endeavors.

5) For priests, ministers and all who aspire to lead others to the Lord, that the Holy Spirit will reign down upon them as at Pentecost filling them to overflowing.

6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land and free them.
