"I wish to keep on giving you messages, as it has never been in history, from the beginning of the world"                                                                                                  -  Medjugorje April 4, 1985

"The only attitude of the Christian toward the future is hope of salvation. Those who think only of wars, evils, punishment do not do well."                                             -  Medjugorje  1982

First as a reminder to those who would like to participate with us, we are fasting today and feasting tomorrow on the 13th as we celebrate one of the greatest signs and wonders of all time tomorrow. Tomorrow probably also represents the greatest wonder of the 20th century, Fatima, and the miracle witnessed by 75,000 people. Fatima celebrates one moment that produced more conversions than perhaps any other moment since the Bible was written.

Jesus said we will know the spirit by the fruits and to go and do greater miracles than even He had done.

Would Fatima qualify as having fulfilled that?

75,000 conversions in five minutes? From ardent atheists to regular churchgoers in denial of their sins? 75,000 in moments?

As it relates to today while we are fasting what were the most studied words from scripture worldwide? First consider the most studied Old Testament passage which is from Malachi. Doesn’t this speak to our world today?

MALACHI 3:13-20

"Your words have been stout against me, says the LORD. Yet you say, `How have we spoken against thee?'14You have said, `It is vain to serve God. What is the good of our keeping his charge or of walking as in mourning before the LORD of hosts?15Henceforth we deem the arrogant blessed; evildoers not only prosper but when they put God to the test they escape.'" 16Then those who feared the LORD spoke with one another; the LORD heeded and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the LORD and thought on his name.17"They shall be mine, says the LORD of hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him.18Then once more you shall distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve him. 4 1"For behold, the day comes, burning like an oven, when all the arrogant and all evildoers will be stubble; the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. 2But for you who fear my name the sun of righteousness shall rise, with healing in its wings. You shall go forth leaping like calves from the stall.

Know that the title “Lord of hosts” does not refer to communion. The Lord of hosts is an expression that means the “Lord of armies”.

It is a war title.

Lord of hosts is the title of our God who wiped out all of humanity, save a small handful during the great flood. The Lord of hosts is the title of our God who commanded His hosts, His army, just one of His powerful angels to kill 185,000 ungodly warriors, who threatened His believers … in just one evening.

In the passage above, the Lord says believers offended Him. How? Believers spoke against Him. Preview the words Jesus would later speak in a parable, believers ask the Lord:

How have we spoken against thee?

 And the answer comes back,

You doubted me. Then you spoke words of doubt.

Isn’t that reminiscent of what upset the Lord so much that He kept the Jews in the desert for 40 years?

The passage then infuriates so many as we see clear delineation unfold in God‘s will with dramatically different outcomes for individuals. Those who “feared the Lord, and thought on his name“ receive protection and blessing.

And for those who did not, “The day comes, burning, like an oven, and all the arrogant and all evil dealers will be stubble.“

How interesting the Lord puts such value on those who repent, trying to live his commands, and those who meditate on his holy name isn’t it?

The power of His name.

Scripture’s imagery is so intense - for those who fear Him and honor His name, the Lord “will spare them as a man spares his son who serves him.“

For those who reject his commands, we read even more intense imagery as our God, the God of armies will burn them, so that “neither root nor branch“ will survive them.

And if that was not intense enough, today the psalms preach outright hate speech in the eyes of government. How interesting this isn’t just any psalm either – this is psalm one verse one. The opening wisdom of all the psalms:

Blessed is the man who walks not in the council of the wicked nor stands  alongside sinners, nor sits in the company of scoffers.

Is that what you are hearing from your pulpit? The psalm says do not listen to or take the advice of evil politicians, bishops, acquaintances, family, whoever, they may be.

Do not keep company with those who gather for activities that are offensive to the Lord. Do not make small talk or spend your time socializing with those who belittle beliefs or tell the world they are atheists.

In contrast, scripture says blessed, are what the world calls the closed minded, one who is not confused by the theologians and progressives but is happy to pursue living within the commands. And under the auspices of the commandments, the blessed spend are idenitifed praying both day and night, reflecting on the Lord‘s will as first priority.

Then in the most studied gospel in the world today, a word of encouragement from Jesus:

Luke 11:5-8

"Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, `Friend, lend me three loaves; 6for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him'; 7and he will answer from within, `Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot get up and give you anything'? 8I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him whatever he needs.”

So as these scriptures, chosen years ago by the Holy Spirit for our reflection today counsel us, let us be resolute in not wasting time or compromising with evil. Instead let us persevere in prayer, believing and trusting that what we are putting before the Lord, He will bless.

Thank you for fasting with us .  You’ll be glad you made the effort for all of eternity.

Why We Fast – Our Core Fasting Intentions

1) We add the new fasting intention of taking back the church from evil. We submit the three-step process to achieve this victory is 1-Repent, 2-Prayer & Fasting and, 3-Imitate our Savior by throwing the evil leadership from the church. We will seek to emulate the Savior in our effort to End The USCCB, an organization that has been devastating to the church.  (“You shall know the spirit by the fruits” - Matt. 7:16)

2) For the Holy Spirit to reign down upon America, renewing our land as the Christian, capitalist meritocracy we were founded to be.

3) For the protection of our police, firefighters, military and their families from harm and that the Lord bless their courageous generosity on our behalf.

4) For the protection of the families who fast with us, and for God’s blessings of abundance upon them and that true to His word, we will be able to witness that He prospered us in famine.

Would you like to learn more about fasting?

We maintain a repository of ideas and information we have learned over the last decade while fasting weekly for America. From scientific studies on the benefits of fasting, to the differences between intermittent dieting vs intermittent fasting, to scriptural references regarding the power of fasting to the history of first century Christians who stated believers are obligated to fast weekly, we hope you will find numerous insights with our free resource located here.

Together let us also implore Heaven while fasting for intentions you have highlighted:

4) For all patriots who put themselves on the front lines in combatting evil and for all of the warriors who are stepping up around the nation to fight for the gospel – May The Father cover them in the blood of our savior,  protect them and their families from evil and bring victory to their endeavors.

5) For priests, ministers and all who aspire to lead others to the Lord, that the Holy Spirit will reign down upon them as at Pentecost filling them to overflowing.

6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land and free them.
