Tomorrow Is The Feast Of The Archangels

____________________________________________________________________________ Thank you to those who fast weekly with us. Many have been fasting regularly for years, while others have just started. The more you fast, the clearer it becomes to believers there is a spiritual battle for every human soul. Fasting accompanying prayer is one powerful tool that Christ Himself said chases evil away. And you all are welding that tool well!
We ask you to join us as you fast today for the incremental intention of God’s protection upon believers and our colleagues in Florida as the hurricane moves into their area.
We fast each week knowing as St Paul said in his letter to the church in Ephesus:
We are not contending against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places.
Clearly many of our political, media and corporate leaders are being used by spiritual forces to perpetrate the culture of death. There have been those who have participated in mass murder such as Dr. Bernard Nathanson (the abortionist who completely fabricated the statistics used to advance Roe v Wade on our country) who would seem to have been hopeless cases. And yet, somehow, God was able to reach into his heart and release him from demonic activity and bring him to the side of the culture of life.
In fact, was anyone startled by the readings of the Sunday before last when Paul’s letter to Timothy was the most studied New Testament passage in the world? He wrote,
First of all, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity.
See friends? One of the worst things that we can do is simply BE angry. We are playing into the dark side because we sideline ourselves. Righteous anger, yes, but anger at the situation, no.
Think whom Paul might have been writing about! He might have been talking about Nero, the one who made human torches out of Christians!
And so today we pray first dear Lord that You release all leaders from spiritual blindness and enflame them with the Holy Spirit. But if they reject your Spirit and choose to wage war vs. You and Your believers, then we pray dear Lord that the wonder of imprecatory prayer manifest upon them, as you displayed upon those who threatened your believers throughout scripture. In Jesus’ name we pray Lord as we supercharge our prayers with fasting today.
Remember, the leader of the angelic forces is the shining St Michael, the archangel who will defeat the devil in the last battle. Many people don’t pray as if there is a spiritual battle, because they have lost the sense of the supernatural, but In the late 1880’s, Pope Leo had a horrific vision of the future which shook him terribly. In response to what he saw, he composed the St. Michael prayer which was to be prayed at the end of every mass until Vatican II chose to declare a cease-fire on evil.
