Thanks to Judy from Pennsylvania who sent us some quotes attributed to President George Washington that we had not seen before.

One quote was Washington’s words of admonition to his troops about a tangible threat he saw to the revolutionary effort:

“We are going to lose this war if we don’t stop taking the name of the Lord in vain.“

What an extraordinary comment from a military commander, isn’t it?

To think that Washington would be so focused on not wanting to offend the Lord… And that, in his opinion, being obedient to the Lord was critical in obtaining the Lord‘s mercy for their temporal endeavor.

What of the practicality of Washington’s view - that honoring the Lord was so important?

Isn’t it interesting to note that it was Washington who was architect of the greatest military upset in history who possessed that view, so perhaps we should reevaluate if allowing God to be crowded out of our lives is more devastating than we realize.

Perhaps if we put God first, we too would experience miracles like Washington did in contrast to not being able to get even the simplest of victories for our nation.

Contrast Washington’s reverence for the Lord’s name with our society. N When was the last time you saw a movie that said, “blessed be the name of Jesus”? In contrast television shows and movies takes the name of Jesus in vain so frequently we have become numb to how great of an offense this is to the Lord. Let us recall Jesus’ words that He would go through the brutal suffering of Good Friday again before seeing the Father offended in such a way.

Doesn’t that put the importance of honoring the Lord’s name in perspective?

Let us endeavor to at least pause and apologize to the Lord when we hear His name taken in vain.

Interestingly, the most studied old testament passage in the world today also spoke of glorifying the Lord’s name in Psalm 86:

9 All the nations thou hast made shall come and bow down before thee, O Lord, and shall glorify thy name. 10For thou art great and doest wondrous things, thou alone art God.

And without coincidence the most studied gospel in the world today showed Jesus, telling us that whenever we pray, begin by praising the Lord’s name:

Luke 11:2

When you pray, say: "Father, hallowed be thy name."

In conclusion as it relates to Washington’s words on honoring the Lord's name and war, given events in Israel let us pray again the exorcists prayer. Let us implore Heaven for the light of truth to illuminate us all so that we would first see ourselves as God sees us, and then understand who the aggressors are in Israel, that they may be brought to justice and that we may have heaven‘s blessing to find peace:

Prayer To Blind Evil

My adorable, Jesus,

May our feet journey together.

May our hands gather in unity.

May our hearts beat in unison.

May our souls be in harmony.

May our thoughts be as one.

May our ears listen to the silence together.

May our glances profoundly penetrate each other.

May our lips pray together to gain mercy from the Eternal Father.

Thank you for fasting with us today. You will be glad you made the effort for all of eternity.

Housekeeping note: as Friday is a feast day of Christian victory in Fatima, we will fast on Thursday this week instead of Friday.  Passing that on in case you care to join us on the modified schedule this week in light of the Christian calendar. Thank you again.

Why We Fast – Our Core Fasting Intentions

1) We add the new fasting intention of taking back the church from evil. We submit the three-step process to achieve this victory is 1-Repent, 2-Prayer & Fasting and, 3-Imitate our Savior by throwing the evil leadership from the church. We will seek to emulate the Savior in our effort to End The USCCB, an organization that has been devastating to the church.  (“You shall know the spirit by the fruits” - Matt. 7:16)

2) For the Holy Spirit to reign down upon America, renewing our land as the Christian, capitalist meritocracy we were founded to be.

3) For the protection of our police, firefighters, military and their families from harm and that the Lord bless their courageous generosity on our behalf.

4) For the protection of the families who fast with us, and for God’s blessings of abundance upon them and that true to His word, we will be able to witness that He prospered us in famine.

Would you like to learn more about fasting?

We maintain a repository of ideas and information we have learned over the last decade while fasting weekly for America. From scientific studies on the benefits of fasting, to the differences between intermittent dieting vs intermittent fasting, to scriptural references regarding the power of fasting to the history of first century Christians who stated believers are obligated to fast weekly, we hope you will find numerous insights with our free resource located here.

Together let us also implore Heaven while fasting for intentions you have highlighted:

4) For all patriots who put themselves on the front lines in combatting evil and for all of the warriors who are stepping up around the nation to fight for the gospel – May The Father cover them in the blood of our savior,  protect them and their families from evil and bring victory to their endeavors.

5) For priests, ministers and all who aspire to lead others to the Lord, that the Holy Spirit will reign down upon them as at Pentecost filling them to overflowing.

6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land and free them.
