Thank you to everyone who fasts with us throughout the year and thank you to those of you who have willingly chosen to fast with us these three days leading up to Independence Day.  Your effort is an incremental fast, beyond any measure of obligation, and comes when discouragement seems widespread.  Yet you stepped up, offering your sacrifice with generous hearts. Recall that America's leaders called for an astounding 1,400 days of fasting by 1815, recognizing the power of fasting in establishing a good direction for our nation.

It is not a coincidence that the most widely studied Old Testament passage in the world yesterday was from Genesis 18:9-15 on the first day of our fast.

And it is not a coincidence that today the most widely studied old testament passage in the world is from 2 Kings 4 on the second day of our fast.

Nor is it a coincidence that today is the 13th Sunday in ordinary time when God has performed some of His greatest rescues.

In these passages we see old and wearied believers. Sarah and am unnamed wealthy woman are told that the births they have dreamed of will come to be. The wealthy woman's reaction to God’s word is also a deep human emotion on display - don't even open this wound again she says to Elisha ... it is too painful to think about the heartbreak.

But as God said to Abraham:

Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will ...

This is God's word to us – at the appointed time, a time which is coming, we will witness the improbable rebirth of the American republic.

If you have not been motivated to fast for three days yet, start now and fast with us. You don't want to miss the eternal reward of making the extra effort to fast for the Lord.

Here are the above referenced stories from scripture for your convenience.  Reflect upon these two believers, who in His mercy God blessed, even though their expectations for miracles had been snuffed out like candles in the darkness of discouragement.

It was the wealthy woman’s generous heart that triggered the life-changing blessing from Heaven. 

Scripture shows us God pauses heaven to point out to his angels when individuals fast.

He will notice your smallest efforts, and your generosity will not go unblessed. Have a wonderful day – God bless & God bless America.

GENESIS 18:1-15

1 And the LORD appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the door of his tent in the heat of the day. 2He lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, three men stood in front of him. When he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the earth, 3and said, "My lord, if I have found favor in your sight, do not pass by your servant. 4Let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree, 5while I fetch a morsel of bread, that you may refresh yourselves, and after that you may pass on -- since you have come to your servant." So they said, "Do as you have said."

6And Abraham hastened into the tent to Sarah, and said, "Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes." 7And Abraham ran to the herd, and took a calf, tender and good, and gave it to the servant, who hastened to prepare it. 8Then he took curds, and milk, and the calf which he had prepared, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree while they ate. 9They said to him, "Where is Sarah your wife?" And he said, "She is in the tent." 10The LORD said, "I will surely return to you in the spring, and Sarah your wife shall have a son." And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him. 11Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in age; it had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. 12So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, "After I have grown old, and my husband is old, shall I have pleasure?"

13The LORD said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, and say, `Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?' 14Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, in the spring, and Sarah shall have a son." 15But Sarah denied, saying, "I did not laugh"; for she was afraid. He said, "No, but you did laugh."

2 KINGS 4:8-11, 14-16

8 One day Eli'sha went on to Shunem, where a wealthy woman lived, who urged him to eat some food. So, whenever he passed that way, he would turn in there to eat food. 9And she said to her husband, "Behold now, I perceive that this is a holy man of God, who is continually passing our way. 10Let us make a small roof chamber with walls, and put there for him a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, so that whenever he comes to us, he can go in there."

 11One day he came there, and he turned into the chamber and rested there. 14And he said, "What then is to be done for her?" Geha'zi answered, "Well, she has no son, and her husband is old." 15He said, "Call her." And when he had called her, she stood in the doorway. 16And he said, "At this season, when the time comes round, you shall embrace a son." And she said, "No, my lord, O man of God; do not lie to your maidservant."

Why We Fast – Our Core Fasting Intentions

1) We add the new fasting intention of taking back the church from evil. We submit the three-step process to achieve this victory is 1-Repent, 2-Prayer & Fasting and, 3-Imitate our Savior by throwing the evil leadership from the church. We will seek to emulate the Savior in our effort to End The USCCB, an organization that has been devastating to the church.  (“You shall know the spirit by the fruits” - Matt. 7:16)

2) For the Holy Spirit to reign down upon America, renewing our land as the Christian, capitalist meritocracy we were founded to be.

3) For the protection of our police, firefighters, military and their families from harm and that the Lord bless their courageous generosity on our behalf.

4) For the protection of the families who fast with us, and for God’s blessings of abundance upon them and that true to His word, we will be able to witness that He prospered us in famine.

4) For all patriots who put themselves on the front lines in combatting evil and for all of the warriors who are stepping up around the nation to fight for the gospel – May The Father cover them in the blood of our savior,  protect them and their families from evil and bring victory to their endeavors.

5) For priests, ministers and all who aspire to lead others to the Lord, that the Holy Spirit will reign down upon them as at Pentecost filling them to overflowing. 

6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land and free them.
