If your day was like ours, today was largely an exercise in frustration, including sending this reminder out with embarrassing lateness… but whatever trials and embarrassments we endured today or endured recently, perhaps we can send evil into fits of convulsion and just offer them up to the Lord for some people who have been on our hearts to pray for them or who may have asked for our prayers.

When one considers what others have endured, our trials were likely very easy in comparison, making it a lot easier to endure.

Perhaps by offering these words to the Lord even though we don’t feel like it, He will think of us like He did the centurion in what was the most studied gospel passage in the world earlier this week:

MATTHEW 8:5-11

5 As he entered Caper'na-um, a centurion came forward to him, beseeching him 6 and saying, "Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, in terrible distress."7And he said to him, "I will come and heal him." 8But the centurion answered him, "Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9For I am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to one, `Go,' and he goes, and to another, `Come,' and he comes, and to my slave, `Do this,' and he does it."10When Jesus heard him, he marveled, and said to those who followed him, "Truly, I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such faith. 11I tell you, many will come from east and west and sit at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,

So, thank you for fasting with us today. If you forgot, perhaps join us and fast tomorrow before the end of the week so you don’t miss out on the graces and honor that will be yours for eternity with our little sacrifice of fasting on bread and water as first century Christians did. 1) For the Holy Spirit to reign down upon America renewing our land as the Christian, capitalist meritocracy we were founded to be.

2) For the protection of our police, firefighters, military and their families from harm and that the Lord bless their courageous generosity on our behalf one hundredfold.

3) For the protection of the families who fast with us, and for God’s blessings of abundance upon them and that true to His word, we will be able to witness that He prospered us in famine.

5) For priests, ministers and all who aspire to lead others to the Lord, that the Holy Spirit will reign down upon them as at Pentecost filling them to overflowing with an understanding of what the Lord wants, courage and the desire to preach what He would have them preach and protection and strength from all evil that comes against them. 

6) For the Americans jailed after January 6th who were admitted to the Capitol building by the police, and who were not found to have destroyed any property at the capitol yet who have been held captive ever since on our own soil - That God's Spirit will move quickly to bring justice back to this land by freeing them while enlightening Americans how to bring God's justice back to our nation.
